Bethlehem Fair Trade Artisans (BFTA) is a non-profit organization that works to spread the fair trade message in Palestine and links Palestinian handicrafts producers to global fair trade markets. BFTA empowers the most vulnerable producers in Palestine, supports them to become active agents in their own livelihoods and develops their social rights and their communities.
BFTA has a fair trade store in Bethlehem and the online shop (www.bethlehemfairtrade.org) that are the economic support for the artisans and their family members. It also organizes visits to the traditional handicrafts workshops which could be incorporated into a program of any group visiting Palestine.
