More Information
This short relaxing half-day hike starts in Beit Jala, west of Bethlehem city. The trail takes the hikers down along the valley called Wadi al-Makhrour, where walkers will be stunned by the beauty of the flora and fauna. The final destination of the tour is the village of Battir - archaeological and historical paradise. In 2014, the place was listed as the UNESCO World Heritage site for its ancient terraced landscape, hosting irrigation channel networks, collection pools, stone terraces, olive groves and world famous archaeological sites. The hike should be on a bucket list of any visitor to Palestine.
